On behalf of the Partnership for Public Service and the Office of Federal Procurement Policy, a few of our RAP-C members are currently engaged in a collaborative project to design a professional development program for high performing, mid-level Acquisition professionals. Using the Federal Acquisition Institute, Defense Acquisition University and several other organizations as benchmarks, we have created a skills matrix and set of learning objectives that we’d like to share and collaborate further with you. RAP-C and the Partnership would like to gather this feedback and input through a focus group session that will be hosted on Wednesday May 22 from 5:30pm-7pm. Registration will be on a first-come, first serve basis as we only have 30 slots for the event.

Understanding the significance of strategic sourcing to a federal agency’s mission and procurement objectives is critical information for any current or emerging acquisition leader. This past December, the White House propelled this concept to the forefront—issuing Memorandum M-13-02, Improving Acquisitions through Strategic Sourcing, designed to build on the Administration’s prior savings successes and “ensure that all agencies manage their acquisitions effectively and that, wherever possible, agencies join together to negotiate the best deal for the taxpayer.”

Join top federal government members of the Strategic Sourcing community Leadership Council (SSLC) for an executive panel discussion, as they share their experiences, successes and best practices to fuel your efforts to achieve your agency’s strategic sourcing goals.

This dynamic and interactive event will include a panel discussion headlined by SSLC members Michael Smith, Director of the Strategic Sourcing Program Office, DHS and Elliott Branch, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Acquisition & Procurement). The event will also include a presentation on strategic sourcing experiences conducted by Vijaya (VJ) Murthy, Contracting Officer, Strategic Sourcing Acquisition Division, NOAA.
